Today I would like to highlight the work of Karen Haas who works primarily in pastels

Born in Calais, France,

Martine Wissocq realized her love of the Arts through her travels in Europe, Mexico, Guatemala, The United states and parts of Africa. The predominant landscapes that influence her Art are those of Crested Butte, Colorado.

Prior to moving into oil painting, Martine entered the world of Art with beaded jewelry and leather work.

Martine started oil painting with Tom Kolendra where she did many renditions of popular paintings.

 

Four years ago she started taking lessons with  Bill Merklein of the Art league of Long Island, from whom she learned the finer points of plein-air painting.
